These relationships have grown well beyond strategic alliances. They now embody a collective vision where healthy oceans, thriving fisheries, and resilient marine environments form the foundation of our coastal future. Together, we are writing a new chapter for WA’s waters, one built on collaboration, science and genuine care for the natural world that defines our coastline.

Coral Maker

Based in Geraldton, Coral Maker addresses coral reef decline through an unexpected fusion of marine biology and manufacturing. Founded by marine biologist Dr. Taryn Foster using her family’s masonry business, they mass-produce stone coral skeletons and deploy robotics with artificial intelligence to accelerate coral propagation. With projections suggesting 70% of reefs will disappear by 2050 even with limited warming, their technology works at reef scale rather than metre-by-metre. Operating from the Abrolhos Islands, Coral Maker creates practical solutions for large-scale restoration and relocating corals to more climate-resilient locations as ocean conditions shift.

CERI

Based in Perth, the Centre for Entrepreneurial Research and Innovation (CERI) addresses Western Australia’s innovation gap through a unique blend of education and hands-on support. Founded as a social enterprise, they guide early-stage entrepreneurs, PhD students, and visionaries from idea to commercialisation, offering mentorship, coworking space and industry exposure. With projections suggesting a growing need for startup support in the region, their programs work at the scale of the entrepreneurial ecosystem rather than one business at a time. Operating from their incubator Launch@22, CERI creates practical pathways for founders to scale their ventures, having already helped graduates achieve a combined startup valuation of $240 million.

DPIRD

As Western Australia’s steward of land and sea, the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development safeguards fertile soils, thriving fisheries and pristine marine ecosystems.

Recfishwest

Recfishwest represents Western Australia’s 750,000 recreational fishers in championing sustainable access, defending spawning grounds, tackling shark depredation, and arming communities with life-saving ocean skills through Fish & Survive.

Shire of Shark Bay

The Shire of Shark Bay is a 25,423-square-kilometre custodian of World Heritage, balancing tourism, fishing, salt production, and pastoral life with protecting Hamelin Pool’s ancient stromatolites and Monkey Mia’s wild dolphins.

Shire of Carnarvon

The Shire of Carnarvon supports a horticultural hub as well as manages community resilience, tourism, and marine conservation from Shark Bay to Ningaloo Reef.

Shire of Albany

The Shire of Albany manages grain exports, timber, livestock, the Albany Shellfish Hatchery, as well as tourism and marine protection within Torndirrup National Park.

City of Cockburn

The City of Cockburn integrates naval shipbuilding at Henderson, aviation at Jandakot, and a diverse commercial base with the stewardship of the Beeliar wetland chain and the Cockburn Sound waters.

MSC

The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certifies sustainable wild-caught seafood with its blue label. It sets environmental standards to minimize fishing impacts on fish stocks and ocean ecosystems, ensuring resources for future generations.

ACWA

The Aquaculture Council of Western Australia (ACWA) is the peak body for the state’s aquaculture industry. This member-driven organisation provides strategic leadership, supports sustainable development, and represents industry interests, including aiding implementation of the Aquaculture Development Plan.

WAFIC

As the recognised peak industry body for Western Australia's commercial fishing, pearling, and aquaculture sectors, Western Australian Fishing Industry Council (WAFIC) protects, and promotes a responsible, sustainable fishing industry.

OKMG

OKMG is the digital agency behind Aquatic Life Industries, Southern Trading Australia and all product branding & packaging, fusing brand strategy, storytelling and digital commerce for the region’s coastal identity.

Cohesion

Cohesion is a Perth-based boutique event management agency that shapes brand stories and community connections into beautifully orchestrated events.

Tourism WA

Tourism WA is Western Australia’s statutory tourism authority, inviting the world to experience the state’s ancient landscapes, vibrant coastal towns, and living Aboriginal cultures.
